Fixing Microsoft Browser Caching

Microsoft Internet Explorer has a caching error that occurs when using help hyperlinks. To set the cache on Internet Explorer:

  1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop and select Properties or, if the browser is already running, select View>Internet Options.

  2. Click Settings from the General tab in the Temporary Internet Files section.

  3. In the new dialog box that appears, verify that the radio button “Every visit to the page” is selected under “Check for newer versions of stored pages” and select this option if it has not already been selected.

You must set this option to prevent Internet Explorer from using the cached version of one of the control help files for context-sensitive help links. Otherwise, the first help link displays properly, but the second time the user clicks a link, the first page displays again.
